abstract = {When mice were exposed to hypobaric and hypoxic environments the levels of brain neurotransmitters (NE, DA. ACh. 5-HT) decreased. These results were reversed and diminished by ginseng root saponins (GRS. ip 100 mg/kg). GRS increased the level of serum corticosterone in hypobaric mice. The increase in corticosterone in normal mice brought about by GPS was inhibited by p-chlorophenylalanine(ip.300 mg/kg) and reserpine (ip, 0.5 mg/kg). These results suggest that the stimulative action of GRS on adrenal gland of hypobaric mice may be related to the effect of GRS on brain neurotransmitters.},
