abstract = {Intracerebroventricular injection (icv) of caffeine 3.5 or 3.75 mg/kg into rabbits elevated the Ca2+ concentrations in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). When pretreated with ascorbic acid (62.5 mg/kg) or sodium D-isoascorbate (30 mg/kg), the Ca2+ in CSF were decreased in a dose-dependent manner. These results indicate that the ascorbic acid or sodium D-isoascorbate antagonizes the icv caffeine-induced elevation of Ca2+ in CSF of rabbits.},
