abstract = {2,2-Dimethylthiazolidine hydrochloride (DMTD) was injected ip 15 min before irradiation. The contents of the plasma adrenocortical hormone in mice were determined by competitive protein binding assay. The results showed a biphasic increase of the plasma hormone level in mice irradiated with a gamma-ray whole body lethal dose (950 R). The 1st peak occurred at 30 min and the 2nd peak on the 3rd day after irradiation. Both peaks tended to be dose-dependent. No further increase of the hormone content in the plasma was observed if the dose of the DMTD exceeded 250 mg/kg. The 2nd elevation of the plasma adrenocortical hormone could be diminished by ip optimal protective dose (DMTD 250 mg/kg) to the irradiated mice.},
