Effect of ohmefentanyl injection to the region of nucleus tractus solitarius on discharge of phrenic nerve in rabbits
Abstract
OhmefentanyI,N-I-(2-hydroxy-2-phenylethyl)-3-methyl-4-piperdyl-N-phenylproanamide. is a potent analgesic first synthesized in our institute. Its main side-effect is respiratory inhibition. The discharge frequency of phrenic nerve was depressed about 50% by ohmefentanyl 0.02 vg/kg injected into the region of the nucleus tractus solitarius in rabbits. similar to that by etorphine 0.05 vg/kg or fentanyl 0.5 vg/kg. These inhibitions were reversed by naloxone. The respiratory inhibition induced by ohmefentanyl was less than that by fentanylp at the equal analgesic effect.
