Anti-arrhythmic effect of sophocarpine hydrobromide
Abstract
Sophocarpine hydrobromide showed effects against CaCla-induced ventricular arrhythmia in mice, aconitine-induced arrhythmia in rats,ouabain-induced arrhythmia in rabbits, and coronary artery occlusion and reperfusion-induced arrhythmia in dogs. Sophocarpine failed to show antiarrhythmic effects against CaClz-ACh-induced atrial fibrillation (flutter) in mice. chloroform-epinephrine-and ouabain-induced arrhythmias in rabbits and isolated rabbit hearts. It had negligible effect on myocardial cAMP content in mice. Thus, sophocarpine is a drug for treating ventricular arrhythmia. Its effect had no close link with myocardial f3-receptors. It had effects on myocardium and on nervous system to regulate thythm of the heart.
