DNA cross-links and their biological significance in S180-V mouse tumor cells treated with cisplatin
Abstract
DNA-protein cross-link and DNA interstrand cross-link in S180-V mouse tumor cells treated with cisplatin were explored. Correlations of these cross-links with the biological events, such as the inhibition of DNA replication, the retardation of cell division and the reduction of cell survival were set up. The biochemical processes for cisplatin in killing S 180-V tumor cells were tentatively interpreted as: first, the formation of DNA crosslinks; then the inhibition of DNA replication, the retardation of cell division; and the final death of cells.
