Abstract

Tetrandrine (Tet) 250μmol/L prevented the degranulation of rat peritoneal mast cells induced by antigen (purified Radix Trichosanthis) 10μg/ml, ionophore calcimycin (A-23187) 0.15μmol/L or compound 48-80 1μg/ml under transmission and scanning electron microscopes, Tet inhibited not only the histamine release from mast cells induced by antigen (10μg/ml), calcimycin (0.15μmol/L) or compound 48-80 (1μg/ml), but also the 45Ca2+ uptake in purified mast cells induced by antigen 0.2 mg/ml.
