Comparison between Scatchard and dose—response ratio equations and their application

Chun Yang

Abstract

Six linear equations were compared for analysis of radioligand receptor binding data. It is important to choose appropriate receptor model and equations. Scatchard and Hill equations have been widely used for saturation studies, while Hill, Cheng-Prusoff, Rugg and Roskoski equations applied to ligand displacement experiments. The dose-response ratio equation is worse from graphical point of view and subject to some theoretical limitations in use for analysis of displacement data.
