Distribution and retention of 125I-urokinase modified by heparin in mice
Abstract
The radioactivity of 125I-urokinases which was either native or modified by heparin activated with bromine cyanide increased rapidly in liver and kidney, but without accumulation. Only traces were found in heart, lungs and spleen. The content of native 125I-urokinase was higher in kidney, but lower in liver than that of the modified 125I-urokinase.Hence the urokinase modified by heparin not only possessed the same characteristics as the native one for fibrinolysis, but also prolonged the retention of urokinase in blood.
