A simplification in calculating drug concentration in plasma after two consecutive infusions
Abstract
This paper described a simpler formula than that of Wagner in 1974 for calculating plasma concentration in two consecutive infusions. Wagner’s formula was:
C=C(ss)+{[(K21-alpha)(K0S-alphaX1T)-alphaK21XT2]/alpha (alpha-beta)Vc}e-alpha(i-T)
My formula is:
C=C(ss)*{1+[(K10-beta)(e-betaT-e-alphaT)/(alpha-beta)(1-e-betaT)]*e-alphat’}
Keywords:
C=C(ss)+{[(K21-alpha)(K0S-alphaX1T)-alphaK21XT2]/alpha (alpha-beta)Vc}e-alpha(i-T)
My formula is:
C=C(ss)*{1+[(K10-beta)(e-betaT-e-alphaT)/(alpha-beta)(1-e-betaT)]*e-alphat’}
