Relation between bronchospasmolytic action of sophocarpine and cAMP contents in mesencephalon
Abstract
The contents of cAMP in midbrain were increased by injecting 4% sophocarine-HBr 0.03 ml/kg into the cistern magna of rabbits, but those in medulla, cerebellum were insigfificantly changed. When sophocarine-HBr was injected im into guinea pigs, the contents of cAMP in lung-bronchial tissues and plasma were insignificantly changed, but those contents were significantly increased by injecting aminophylline im. It is suggested that the bronchospasmolytic effect of sophocarpine-HBr may be due to the increase of cAMP content in midbrain.
